Installing and Editing Maps  - LucasArts Outlaws  - By: Dr. Gonzo

Tools Needed to Install:

1. Web Browser
2. Winzip or other Compression software (for *.zip files)

Tools Needed to Edit:

1. TheOutlawDad's Editors Setup - (A program compiled by Dr. Gonzo, to install all the needed files for      the Lawmaker Map Editor) Which can be found at:

http://www.theoutlawdad.com/TheOutlawDadsEditorssetup.exe
(copy and paste the link into your browser's URL bar.)

The program will install Lawmaker, Tutor, ConManager, NWX editor, and a couple other necessary programs, and provide shortcuts convieniently posted on your desktop, for quick access. 

Installing Winzip:

Step 1. Goto Winzip's Homepage - www.winzip.com

Step 2. Follow the links and instructions there to download and install winzip.

How to download and install Outlaws Maps

Step 1. - Determine the exact name of the multiplayer map used, by, Entering the Outlaws Main program, Clicking the [MULTIPLAYER] button, and then clicking the [JOIN GAME] button. 
Enter the Server's IP Address in to the field, and click [ACCEPT]. When you see the Server's name in the right-hand box, click the [GET INFO] button. The MAP name will be listed on the second line. Beneath the Server Name.

Step 2. - Open your web browser, and point it to the link - Http://www.theoutlawdad.com/maps

Step 3. - Scroll down through the alphabetical list of map names, and select the map you desire. Some map names may be abbreviated and/or slightly different. For a COMPLETE description of each MAP listed, click the TXT file, respectively named after each MAP Name.

Step 4. - After clicking the MAP filename, and the download request begins, select the folder where the MAP file will be saved. Once the download file dialog box appears, and the download finishes, click the  [OPEN FILE] button. Winzip should automatically open, showing the contents inside the compressed MAP file. 

 ( NOTE: If winzip fails to open, or the download file dialog box is closed after the download completes; Find the downloaded MAP file, in the location it was saved in,  and double-click on it to open it with winzip. )

Step 5. - Extract the MAP file's contents to the Outlaws folder.  C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Outlaws 

Step 6. - Close Winzip, and return to your Outlaws game. After clicking Join Game, you should be taken directly to the Server Lobby.


TROUBLESHOOTING:

If any error messages appear while trying to connect to the Server Lobby, try the following.

1. Try re-downloading the MAP file again, and extracting it into the Outlaws folder. Make sure to OVERWRITE the old files that are in the folder, whereas they may have been corrupted while          downloading and unzipping.

2. Shut-down the Outlaws game, re-install the new MAP file again, and restart Outlaws. 

3. Check that the ping is low enough to join the Server. A ping of over 500ms  will result, in the     connection timing-out. And the Server, will shutdown your connection.

4. Check that you have the correct MAP name, by reading the TXT file listed next to the MAP file on     www.theoutlawdad.com/maps  page.

5. Repeat Step 1. above, if necessary..
