Thanks Garbo. ================================================================ * General Idea * This is very close to what my grandparent's place in Arkansas looked like. I had to make some changes for FPS, but on the whole, the flavor is still there. The layout and look of the house is especially close. Pale pointed out how cramped the house is. I made a few changes to open it up some. Furniture is tucked away. I got rid of some. I considered enlarging it, but abandoned the idea, simply because I wanted it to be as close to the real house as possible. It was cramped. * Innovations * The fence was pretty tough to construct. I hope that players will soon learn which they can jump and which they can not. All can be shot through, so feel free to blast folk across the outside corners. BEWARE 3DOs can't pass any more than any other sprite, so TNT will bounce right back in your face. The pre-scoped rifle is something I've been planning on for some time. Although it is not too useful in this small map, I thought that other LawMakers might like to make use of it. New PCXs : Well, most aren't very new. I've used them in other maps. Some had to be reworked for this one, though. New NWXs/ITMs: The most notable is the scoped rifle mentioned above. The fence posts made much of the construction easier. I wanted some chickens around, so I made some that just sit or stand. Shoot them all you want. They won't even budge. I also drug out eye candy versions of the bucket and shovel. The rest of the custom NWXs have been used before. The weapons have more than normal ammo and respawn more quickly. The original idea was to cut down on ammo clutter. *A Tip* The loft in the barn is a tough jump. Regardless of jumping ability, it is easiest to aim for the cross timber to give yourself more landing room. Gliders can stand/jump from a lower bale and go to the right of the post. DirectDraw folk will have to crouch jump from an upper bale and go left of the post. See, it does pay to read TXT files. :-) * Construction * Base : Editor(s) used : LawMaker ver 1.0 Beta 3 : Raptor's most excellent NWXEditor Known Bugs : You might get a little sky mirror as you exit a shelf. It is momentary and should pose no obstacle to play. As usual, sloped walls are rendered differently in Glide and DirectDraw. DD Players may notice some stitching that will not look quite right. Glide players should not. Not much I can do about that. * Copyright / Permissions * Feel free to use any of my custom NWX or PCX. As usual, I'd expect a nod in your TXT file if you use any of them.
